A Taken Life is Pocket Change (Murderous John Hancocks)

Murderous
John
Hancocks –
so delicately, carefully,
intentionally
crafted,

from the selfish,
covetous of the
Spiteful,
with everything to lose
or all things to gain,

“I’s” and “T’s” meticulously
dotted

The
Banks
use clientele sums
to expense sums to clientele

and gamble with
fluctuating,
economical,
inconsistency

like those lump sums
lives have been
filed in drawers to be
pulled from a hat at
any moment’s convenience of
the Spiteful

whose covetous nips harshly at their flesh like a viper whose
venom can be
extracted only through
the possibility of death,

with an outcome of true fortune should death come
and the Spiteful survive

Cannons blaze through the topsoil of hope;
the upturned soil –
the debris of brick, leaves, and blood –
falls
softly, in comparison against
the premeditated

satisfaction rising
in decibel
and

pocketed
currency.
