glass dolls (draft)

she’s a ballerina in a fairy-tale.

he’s a boy from God Knows Where.

she dances blindly on
frozen shores,
while he dreams of drowning.

a graceful marionette (is she) –
– time stays frozen.

a staggering victim (is he)
– one of the forgotten.

and they meet one another
in a  hour glass,
beneath grains of sand
from times long passed,

while those in a present time,
spy on them through
a looking glass;

watching as they dance together –
through the pains of time.
