Listening Skills

by Alexis Marie

I wish I could ask you
all these questions;
I wish I could tell you
of all the things I feel.
But you would never
or you would never

I wish I could write down
all the problems,
and then pass the paper
to your stare;
but you would never
read it–
leave the note just
laying there.

I find myself at such a
loss, on how
to make you see.
You’re ignorantly blinded
by how you think
things should seem.

But if by chance there
comes a time
you find your ownself lost
for words, I
shall be ready, eyes wide
open; ears turned on.
