I am a Hollow One

by Alexis Marie

I am a hollow one;
eyes clouded,
blind from the truth.

inside my cracking shell
all that He made me
is slipping; leaking from crevices
–tissue and bone.

my body lies sagged
against Life’s turned back,
and I am sliding into
a puddle at Its feet;

soaking into Earth’s foundation,
my deteriorating ear
hears screaming.
